Hope and the Connected Kingdom Podcast
I was speaking with a good friend who had listened to a podcast I was on when she exclaimed, “I’m so glad to hear your joy and hope.” Her encouragement was a great blessing to me. How can I talk about hard things like miscarriages, racism, politics, and womanhood and have hope? My first thoughts were that the joy of the Lord really is my strength and there’s so much hope in Jesus Christ.
We sing about Jesus being our hope, don’t we? Words like, “my hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus blood and righteousness,” have rolled off my tongue into melody to God many a time. Singing about our Hope can become a habit, but thankfully it’s also a fact.
Our confidence and security isn’t in wishful thinking, Jesus truly is the only hope we have which is one of the reasons I’m excited to speak or write about hard things. Those issues can seem so hopeless. But because the Lord is our strength and our shield our hearts can trust in him, and he will be our help (Psalm 28:7). My hope is that His message would bring hope and salvation to this fallen world.
Connected Kingdom
With that said, I hope you will take a minute to listen in on my discussion with professor and writer, David Murray. David and pastor and blogger, Tim Challies are the hosts of the Connected Kingdom Podcast. I have great respect for these men and was thrilled to get a chance to speak with them. Unfortunately Tim had a pastoral emergency to tend to and was unable to join us.
