Merry Christmas! and a Newsletter
I (finally!) sent out a newsletter. One of my New Years goals is to begin writing newsletters more often. I want to be faithful to write to those who have taken the time to subscribe. I thought I’d share what I wrote in that newsletter with you…
Dear Friends:
I realize it has been a while since I have written so I thought this was the perfect time to begin my newsletter again. I don’t presume that everyone who receives this short note is having a “merry” Christmas. I imagine there are some experiencing trials and struggles. I have been praying for the weary this season. You, whoever you are, have been on my heart. Here is an excerpt of a post I wrote with the weary world in mind:
The stories we tell during the Christmas holiday about the baby born in a manger are not fairytales. The story of Christmas is a story of God, becoming man, who was born to a virgin, sent to redeem the world. We can join Mary in rejoicing, not because our circumstances are perfect or even because we can make sense of the troubles we experience. We rejoice because we know that the story doesn’t end with Jesus’ birth. We know that Jesus came and fulfilled the promise of a king who would bear our grievances, crush the serpent and one day wipe away all our tears.

Whether you are weary this Christmas or filled with joy, I pray the Lord would help you to remember Him this season. He is our reason for rejoicing.
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” Isaiah 9:6
I pray God will give you great hope and peace, and a very Merry Christmas!
In Christ,
Trillia Newbell
