Fear and Faith Study Introduction

We are gearing up to begin the Fear and Faith book study next Tuesday, September 8. Today, I’d like to make sure you are fully prepared to begin. This study can be done alone or with a group. You can find out all the preliminary information here.

You’ll need:

  1. Fear and Faith (can be purchased on Amazon, B&N, ChristianBooks, and other retailers)

  2. The Discussion Questions (downloadable here. They will also be included in each weekly blog post)

  3. Your study group. The study can be done alone, but if you have a group grab them and begin! Choose a day that works best for you. Please note that if you are following along with my posts, they will appear each Tuesday morning.

Each Tuesday over the next eleven weeks, I’ll post supplemental and additional material that you won’t find in the book. You can read the post here as an additional part of your book study. Read the corresponding chapter from Fear and Faith for that week and use the discussion questions as a guide for conversation and reflection. The discussion questions are based on the chapter in the book and not the additional material found in the blog post.

Schedule:

9/8: Chapter 1 Fear of Man

9/15 Chapter 2 Fear of the Future

9/22 Chapter 3 Fear of Other Women

9/29 Chapter 4 Fear of Tragedy

10/6 Chapter 5 Fear of Not Measuring Up

10/13 Chapter 6 Fear of Physical Appearance

10/20 Chapter 7 Fear of Sexual Intimacy

10/27 Chapter 8 Why We Can Trust God

11/3 Chapter 9 The Fear of the Lord

11/10 Chapter 10 When Your Fears Come True

11/17 Chapter 11 Growing in the Fear of the Lord and Final post

As I explain throughout the book, I’m not a woman who has “arrived” but one who has learned to fight my fears with faith. I look forward to studying about biblical characters and the truth of God’s Word together with you over these next eleven weeks as we seek to grow in the fear of the Lord.
